Tutorials

For those of you who are tackling records management related projects for the first time, the RMLocal Intensive Tutorial is the ideal introduction. Join us for the pre-conference session on 15th November before attending RM Local.

Project Planning and Implementation Toolkit

This one day course provides a step by step guide to managing an Electronic Document & Records Management (EDRM) project successfully from initial project start up through information gathering to making a business case, defining your requirements and procuring and implementing a solution.

At the end of this tutorial you will have a checklist to guide you through the process of setting up and
managing a full EDRM project.

The tutorial breaks into six core modules:

What is meant by an EDRM system, reviews the range of core and optional functions and helps you to position EDRM systems alongside your existing IT systems and applications

Looks at the project management issues and suggests a proven methodology for managing an EDRM project

Reviews the crucial steps involved in defining your document and records management requirements

Guides you through the process of reviewing the options for improvement, agreeing the preferred approach and making the business case for that preferred approach

Looks at how to produce a Statement of Requirements and procure the required solution

A proven approach to managing the implementation

Each session will include example case studies and discussion sessions are built into the day.
